BABIES

"Lactogen is easily digested

and assimilated"Says a Hospital Doctor

*

· After having tried several preparations of infant food I have found out that "Lactogen" has given the best results so far for my own baby and those who have been using it under my direction and observation. Lactogen" is easily digested and asimilated by infants as well as readily prepared, not to mention its high food value. Unlike same artificial milk preparations it is non- condipating."

Babies do well when put on Lactogen. It agrees with them. Now Doctors and Nurses everywhere are telling Mothers "Baby will thrive if you put him on Lactogen.” Lactogen is pure, fresh, full-cream modified, dried milk with extra cream and natural milk sugar added, made in all important respects exactly like breast milk.

BRIGHT FLOWERS AND COLOURFUL ACCESSORIES

Frocks As Variegated As A Summer Bouquet

the

The latest collections of French couturieres are character- ized by a veritable riot of colour. Every colour of the rainbow, as well as countless shades that the most discerning eye could never discover in that radiant arch, are displayed in the models created for the summer season. One won- ders if there can possibly be an inner reason for this. Can it be that the Parlalan dressmakers "fed up" with difficult financial and Dolitical problems, have decided to "put up a bold frent" and show the world that they are still un- daunted by existing conditions? And how could they better ex- Press this attitude than by a great display of brillant colours? Be that as it may, the fact remains that the present collections are the most colourful within the memory of the oldest inhabitant.

Even the all-back frock, of which there are always a great number in every collection, is given a festive touch by a bright sash or belt, a big posegay of flowers or a hat and gloves in a brilliant colour.

FLOWERS EVERYWHERE

trimming and flowers seemed to them a relic of Victorian days. It re- mained for the dressmakers to put their shoulders to the wheel of fashion, with the result that at the present moment, flower-makers are working overtime, and there is even a dearth of workers. And such flowers! Never before have artificial blossoms been so lovely. Gorgeous tulips, sprays, of lilac. wistaria and mimosa, peonies, pop- ples, dahlias, gardenias, nastur- tiums and waxlike calla Hilles these are a few of the varieties which are so perfect that it is al- most impossible to realize

that

they are not the natural blooms. Flowers are worn not only on hats, on the bodices or tucked into the belta of day and evening gowns, but they have become the favourite decoration for the evening coff-

fure.

Wreaths of little rose-buds, for- get-me-nots.or, paristes encircle the head, clusters of blossoms tall over the ears or ile flat at the sides of the head, a bunch of flowers is placed at the front, just over the forehead, and Mlle. Chanel puts a flat plastron of little roses low at the back of the head.

LITTLE JACKETS Another colourful accessory of the summer costume is the jacket of coloured linen, snugly fitted, single-breasted and flaring a bit below the waistline. "While white Pique and linea are still favourites for the summer jacket, those in a
