Admirers of the singing marvel- Al Jolson-will be more than pleased to know that he is back with us on the silver screen at the Queen's Theatre in The Singing Kid," a fine picce of singing enter- tainment in which the star is seen at his best, even surpassing his previous efforts.

Moreover, patrons of the Queen's will be delighted to know that one can now enjor the shows with equanimity, as their "cooling sys-i tem" has now been put in order and is functioning delightfully.

The picture on the whole will de- cidedly "draw good houses, as it has that "catchy" appeal which is lacking in most pictures.

The story is decidedly. aketchy and fairly fréquently gets lost ex- tirely; but what matter when one has Al Jolson, Edward Everett Horton. the Yacht Club Boys and Cab Calloway and ls Band to keep the ball rolling? They are alded. too, by clever Uttle Sybil Jason, Beverly Roberts and lovely, Claire Dodd, who makes a brief appear- ance when the story has a look-in. Serving as an appetiser to the main feature is a delightful short entitled "The Regular Kid" in which more than 100 future stars of the silver screen are seen in a programme of songs and dances. Moreover the short is in Techni- colour.
