London, July 31. The liner City of Hong Kong has brought to Plymouth re- fugees from Spain comprising 14 men, 50 women, 19 children and four babies. Two of the babies were a fortnight old and the oldest among the refugees was 95 years of age. Many of the refugees gave graphic descriptions of their terrifying experiences.

A Bristol woman, Edith Cross, sa a car in Barcelona” drive furiously down the street in which a woman rose and gave the Communist salute. The woman then opened fire with a machine gun, killing several people, before the soldiers literally cut her to pieces. The woman was a Fascist who used the Communist salute as a disguise.
