SANDWICHES FOR

THE PARTY

The ordinary meat sandwich is

a dull affair, so why not ring the charges on it? A milk or wheat

meal roll makes a nicer basis than the ordinary loaf, and for filling there are many good things. Chop- ped walnuts and sliced blanched Valencia almonds, to say nothing of brazil-nuts, are delicious in sandwiches. They can be sprin- kled over thinly sliced cheese, or used with sliced olives, or even with slices, of dates and Ittle pieces of dried fg. If you do not care to eat any quantity of bread, try the expedient of putting the Alling between a couple of cracker- biscuits.

Savoury sandwiches can be made from various sauces and relishes mixed with left-overs of fish. You will enjoy a sandwich of cold fish, If the bread has been sprinkled with tomato sauce or spread light- ly with chutney. A cream cheese, beaten up with a few drops of York- shire relish makes a perfect sand- wich Alling: and grated parmesan, a pounded with Worcester sauce is

another delectable mixture.

See that the rind is tho- roughly clean and dry and also that the caddy has a tightly fitting d. Mix the rind and tea together and leave for a day or so, giving the téa an occasional stir. Or Sange rind is also useful for giving a delicate orange favour to pud- dings. Rub a few lumps of sugar on the rind of the orange- until the sugar has become yellow and add these lumps of sugar to the pudding.
