CHANCES OF RETAINING THE

CHAMPIONSHIP

Lawn Bowls Prospects.

INDIFFERENT DISPLAYS BY THE CLUBS

(BY SHORT HEAD").

Craigengower C. C. "A" by their smashing win over the Bowling Green last week cahanced their chances of retaining the senior honours for yet one more year, and their victory last week was thoroughly deserved." All- twelve players rose to the occasion, and although the Mainland team were beaten they put up quite a credita- ble display..

R. F. Luz was in irresistable form, and it was through his all round display that his rink was able to in- flict a 23 shots' victory over L. Guy's four. Whatever his leading men were unable to do, Luz would invariably put in the finishing touches, and with Rosselet backing his up at No. 3 his victory was assured from the start. An interesting game was seen, pleased. There was very little op! between U. M. Omar's four and R. Duncan's rink. The C.C.C.'s. Tink won by 12 shots in this game, but not after an interesting and hard fought affair, in which R. Duncan came in to save his side from a heavier defeat. The Valley players were right on top of their form and were bowling, very nicely. The

work of saving the side from a heavier defeat was left to Duncan who came through a trying ordeal with colours dying. At one stage the C.C.C.'s rink was lying seven, when Duncan came through with his last wood to lay the shot and thus turned a seven shots' count into a one shot credit.

A. M. Holland must have struck a bad patch when his rink went down to Basa's four. The standard nt this game was not as high as the other two rinks, but neverthe- less the match was played with the usual skill. Basa's four had the advantage over the losers right from the start and 19 shots to the good on the 21st head.

position coming from the losers and although Hollidge's and Mac- Gown's rinks did their best to stem the run of the tide, Jones's four were "competely walloped by Dal-

lah's rink to the tune of 43 shots to 71

C.C.C. "B" ran away from Kow- loon Docks and were full value for the points. With the exception of Pearse's rink the other two rinks each scored 30 shots.

Pearse's rink went down to Cul- len's four by 20 shots to 15, while Field and his men had 19 shots advantage over McKelvie's four and W. Gill's quartette won by 13 shots from Cooper's rink,
