Parls July 15. Instructions have been despatched to the French Ambassador In London to notify the British Foreign Office that the French Government desires that the Brussels Conference be held even though Italy does not participate.

Paris" newspapers declare that in London there is little in- clination shown to participate in the Brussels Conference under the present circumstances, but believe that the British Govern- ment will ultimately, allow itself to be persuaded to do as the French Government wishes, especially as the French view is shared by Belgium.

The press, however, entertains no concrete hopes that this con- ference would yield any practical results.
