NEWS FROM THE WATERFRONT
Freight and Asiatic Passengers Returns
(BY LONGSHOREMAN), During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday, the freight returns, received from the Har bour Office, showed a considerably high tonnage movement, a large proportion of which being made up by British ships.
The total tonnage of general carro carried by vessels to the Colony Was 11,946 tons, with British steamers carrying 5,470
tons.

Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colonyamounted 34,338 tons, of which 12879 tons were carried by British steamers.
Astatic deck passengers entering Into the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday were 2.376, of which 959 were from British steamers.
There were altogether twenty- four arrivals, of which ten were of British registry, the remainder being of other nationalities, while of the 17 departures, seven were British ships, the rest being of other different countries. culars as follows:-- Nationality
