Three New Records Created

CHAMPIONS SMASHING WIN

Saturday was indeed 1 day of high scoring in the Lawn Bowls Leagues, when no less than three new records for the present season were created.

Craigengower Cricket Club once again secured a treble win, and their “Â's” triumph over their nearest rivals, the Kowloon Bowling Green by 90 shots to 36 is a new team aggregate record. The defeat of the Bowling Green is indeed a humiliating one for them, as they were conceded rosy chances of inflicting the first defeat of the season on the Valley team prior to the game. As it was the winners played like one man and were heads and shoulders above the losers.

The Indians easily accounted for the Civil Servants, winning by 89 shots to 43 in which two new records were established by Dallah's rink. This rink's win broke both the rink win and rink score recurds with new scores of 36 and 43 shots respectively. Récréia, C.C.C. "B" and Taikoo Dock were the other senior teams

to win. Sixes were common on the day.

A six followed by a seven enabled R. F. Luz to beat L. Guy by 23 shots, while a four followed by a seven was mainly responsible for M. Y. Adal's win over J. F. McGowan by six shots. W. E. Hollands also had a seven, heating F. X. Silva by 24 to 18. Sixes were recorded by W. Gill, R. Basa, J. A. R. Selby, J. Bentley C. H. Basto, F. X. Soares, and A. E. Carey.

VOLUNTEERS WIN

In the second baseball game the Volunteers beat the Canadians by 13 runs to 2 yesteday.

"David Leonard scored a home run in the first inning for the Volun- teers.

The whole programme was car- ried out without a hitch and much disappointment was felt when due to lack of entries the 50 Yards Free Style Championship of the Nursing Detachment had to be call- ed off.

A CLOSE BACE In one of the closest finishes witnessed at the Bath, the Static Machine Guns parrowly defeated the Corps Infantry by a touch in the 300 Yards Relay. It was a touch and go affair and the slight advantage given by S. V. Gitțins |...”. and Anslow enabled the winners to hold out.

Another interesting item on the programme was the High Diving which was won by the Corps In- fantry. In this event the Coastal Defence came in for their share of the spoils.

An amusing item was the pillow Aght which was won by R. Andrews, In the next event E. M. Marques gave the Corps Infantry victory when he beat 6. V. Gittins in the Three Styles Relay

The last event on the programmme was the final at the Inter-Unit water-polo championship, which was won by the Corps Infantry in a fast and thrilling game against the Static Machine Guns, who went down fighting gamely by 4 goals to 1.

J. D. Remedios was the star of the game, scoring all four of the winners' goals as the result of solo efforts, while E Owen Hughes, in goal, and §. V. Gittins, in the at- tack shone for the losers,
