WOODEN SPOONISTS TO CLASH

Champions To Be

INDIANS SHOULD DO WELL

"

(BY “SHORT HEAD”)

The Senior Lawn Bowls League Champions will be given a stiff test to-day by the K.C.C. in their return en- counter at home, and much will depend on how the hom. sters fare.

Last week's results were very much expected, with the exception of the Indians' first away win in two seasons. The Indians on the whole played good bowls and thoroughly deserved to win, Two potential challengers to the séalor Champions--the Kowloon

Close Open Pairs Contest

A spirited, yet unavailing effort marked the termination of a close Open Pairs games yesterday at the K.C.C. green between J. S.

Two "Dock" teams-the Kowloon Docks and the Taikoo Docka-both at the bottom of the League table will be battling out for the "wood- en spoonist honours to-day. The Taikoo Docks have played Ave games without a single point. The Kowloon Docks are in a no better❘ Landolt and R. Rumjahn and position, having played seven games without a single victory to their credit. Their clash to-day will provide the answer. I think the teams are well matched and the result will be a very open one.

THE TEAMS

The following are some of the probable line-ups

Coleman and G. N. Mitcheil. The latter lost by 2 shots, 22-20, after tralling 20-5 at the 10th head.

Rumjahn and his partner com- menced well registering four threes in quick succession and soon had a commanding lead of 15 shots. From the 10th head onwards, Mitchell and his partner asserted themselves, registering two threes and & two. At the final head they required a four to Me and were lying two shots. Mitchell attempted to drive to save the situation but falled.

The lasers' best head was 4th where they obtained a four.

The C.C.C. "A" did not have thel: matters all their way in match again t their. "B" team, and but for the display given by w. Gul's four, the "A would have been sorely put to avoid defeat. Gill's rink lost to Luz's four by no Iess than 13 shots. On the other hand W. K. Way's rink after more than holding their own against U. M. In the third game Rosse- let's four had the advantage over Pasa and his men, winning by, fre shots, The winners were playing sightly the better bowls and were full value for the victory.

The

FIRST AWAY WIN .. Indians scored their first away win in two seasons when they beat the Talkoo Docks by 26 shots. It was a no menu feat af- though the Dockers were not play ing the same brand of bowls of a year or two ago. Dallah returned to his old form and his rink was victorious by 13 shots aver Wallace's four, while A. R. Minu, who is at the present moment playing consistently good bowls also scored 13 shots to the good over Drummond's four.Adal's rinks and Chalmers' four battled to a standstill at 17 shots all
