NEWS FROM THE WATERFRONT:

Freight and Asiatic Passengers Returns

(BY LONGSHOREMAN), During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday, the freight returns. received from the Har. bour Office, showed a moderate tonnage movement.

The total tonnage of genera cargo carried by vessels to the Colony was 8:515 tons, with British steamers carrying 733 tons.

Through yond the Colony amounted 15 821 tors, of which 4,702 tons. were carried by British steamers.

Asiatic deck passengers entering Into the Colory during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday were 1.267. of which 638 were from British steamers.

There were altogether fourteen arrivals, of which five "were of British registry, the remainder being of other nationalities, while of the 20 departures, seven were, British ships, the rest being of other dlferent countries, Part- eulars as follows:--
