Freight and Asiatie Passengers Returns

(BY LONGSHOREMAN), During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, the freight returns received from the Har. bour Office, showed a considerably high tonnage movement,, a large proportion of which being made up by Norwegian and Japanese ships:

The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony Was 30,318 tons, with British steamers carrying 2,100 tons

Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony, amounted 20.185 tons of which 3,271 tons were carried by British steamers.

The R.MB. "Empress of Japan" arrived at Shanghai on the 18th June (Tuesday) at 12.30 p.m. and leaves Shanghai.on the 17th June (Wednesday) at 6.00a.m. She is due at Hong Kong on the 19th June (Friday) at 7.00 a.m. and leaves Hong Kong for Manila on the saine day at 5.00 p.m.

Next Homeward salling 's.. "Benvenue" will leave for Phillp- pines, Straits, Colombo, Part Sald, London, Hamburg, Antwerp and Leith on July 9th.
