The market was poorly support- ed in London yesterday by Indian speculative interests and was un- able to absorb the somewhat heavy offerings for account of the Continent and China. Prices con- sequently dropped 3/16 for Rendy and 1/8 for Forward, to 19 7/8 and 19 1516, but at the lower level some support was forthcom- ing for account of India at a frac- tion over rates. The closing tone' was on the steady side with buyers at quotations but sellers withold- ing. The price in New York was 44 3/4.

In London the Dollar closed at 5:01 3/8 New York quoted Ster- ling at 5.01 1552
