the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday showed a fairly high tonnage movement, à large pro- purtion of which being contributed by American and Japanese ships. The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony was 8,712 tons, with British steamers carrying 888 tons
