Manslaughter Charge Preferred

A charge of manslaughter or an charge of dangerous alternative driving was preferred against Au Chor, a lorry driver yesterday when he appeared before Mr. W. Schofield a: the Central Magis- tracy.

Stating the case, Mr. WilliamS said that the victim was named Choy Nan, aged 38, a care- take of the Public Latrine at Wing Hing Street. He left home on March 13 at 8.00 a.m. The"scene of the accident was Electric Road. which 1 bounded on one side by shops and on the other by a wall surrounding the Yacht Club. The deceased was riding a bicycle on the opposite side of the road to which the lorry was going. The lorry was travelling from East to West. The roads at the time were dry though slightly damp.
