Silver prices dropped yesterday to the extent of 3/16 for Ready and 1/8 for Forward. the quota- tions being 19 11/16 and 191 res- pectively. The drop was attribut- ed to some seng on the part speculators and also to lack support. After the official Oxing there was a small demand at the fixed rate. In America the rare was unchanged at 443 for Spot.

STERLING

A small business was reported during the course of the morning at 1/3 13/16 for April delivery. The market closed, at 1 p.m. with. sellers at 1/3 13/16 for March and 1/31 April/July," buyers at 1/18 higher respectively.

U.S. DOLLARS

No business was reported. There were sellers at 321 for cash and probably March, 32 11/16 April and 321 May, buyers at 1/16 high- er respectively.

SHANGHAI DOLLARS Business was done at 108) and 108 15/16 for Spot. There were schlers at 1081, buyers at 108 15/16 for Spot.
