HELP RENDERED

I do not think there is anything further that I can add and to therefore only remains for me to express my warm personal thanks to our Secretary and Treasurer and the members of the General Committee for all the help and as- sistance which they have given me during the year.

They have one and all helped to make my year of office a very happy one and I think a success- ful one, and without wishing to appear invidious I should like to mention our Bowls Sub-Committee

who have given many hours of their spare time to running our competitions and building up our carried out their teams. They somewhat delicate tasks without con- fear and favour, and, I am vinced that a great deal of the credit for such a successful season

Mr. E. W. Gardiner, placed the Proposal to the meeting that the contribution for prize money by in a'vidual members be unlimited, and not $3 as in previous years. its proposal was seconded by Mr.

W. S. Drake and was carried un- animously.

With regard to the handicap. doubles, a competition run by the lawn bowls section of the club, Mr. Drake proposed that the names of participants should be drawn from the bat, and not as had been the habit in previous years, by indivi- dual canvassing of the members. This proposal was seconded by Mr. C. M. Hall, but before being put to the meeting. Mr. H. Nish said that he had an amendment to make, He proposed that the work be left to the sub-committee, but when the amendment was put to the vote it was defeated and the on- ginal proposal was passed.

Only eight members respanded tą Mr.. Drake's proposal that lady members be allowed the use of the greens one day a week, for lawn bowls, and the proposal was de- feated, when placed to the vote.

Mr. Hall said that an expert- ment on the lines of Mr. Drake's suggestion had been carried out some years ago, and had been the cause of endless. trouble

He felt sure that he was voicing the sentiments of all present when he said that they had no complaint, against them. He wished, however, to pro- pose a special vote of thanks for the able manner in which the the Chairman had conducted Brad-meeting, and for the tact and pa-.
