GLORIOUS UNCERTAINTY OF CRICKET
Prospective Champions Badly
Trounced
The glorious uncertainty of cricket was fully demonstrated. on Saturday when in the senior league encounter between the prospective champions-the 1R,C. and the University, the Varsity tads trounced the Indians unexpectedly by 104 runs, thanks muin. ly being due to the versatile E. Cosano who did very well with both bat and bull.
Goșano was literally responsible for their victory, besides col- lecting 51 rans in no uncertain manner he went on to capture 8 of the Indian wickets for 20 rans-a no mean achievement. The Indians were unable to withstand his bowling and at one stage the losers lost & wickets for 16 runs.
By this 'defeat the Indians are not in a very sound position being two points ahead of the K.C.C. who has one match in hand. Should the K.C.C, intend to carry off the league they mast de- feat the University in their last match, a draw will automatical- ly give the Indians the Shield.
There was only one other senior game played on Saturday, the Civil Service accounting for the C.C.C. while in the three junior league games two ended in draws, the C.C.C. had the bet ter over the Civil Service.

COLONY'S FAILURE IN ATTACK
A Deserved Victory
For the first time in three off- cind encounters to-date. Масло were successful on Saturday defeating the Colony side in an Interport encounter played at King's Park, by the only goal scored. The effort came late in the match, but was thoroughly de- served, for on the day's play, the visitors werk vastly superior In stickwork and speed, and had a much harrassed Hong Kong de tence on their toes for the whole of the game.
Only a fair crowd was present to witness the match, the visitors goal coming from the stick of P. Angelo in the 54th minute of the game.
The series played to-date read as allows: 1934. Hong Kang 1. Macao 1 (played in Hong Kong);
3 1935. Macau i Hong Kong (played in Macao): 1936, Hong Kong D, Macso 1.

NAVY DEFEATED IN LAI WAH CUP FINAL
Club's Meritorious Victory
་
Over S. China "A"
In a game in which the defences on both sides dominated play, the Chinese Civilians defeated the Navy in the final of the Lat Wah Cup yesterday by two goals 'to nil in a spirited encrun- ter. The Chinese forwards made amends for the deplorabla dis- play or a day ago when they falled miserably against the Hong Kong Football Club.
Yesterday's game was fought aut in real, cup-tie fashion, and and once again the presence of Lee Wal Toris as a centre-for- ward was felt when he scored the second goal in his inimitable
way.

S. China "B" was indeed lucky to force a draw against the Fusiliers when they were being on the defensive ter three quarters of the game. Police, St. Joseph's College, Navy and The China Athletic won as expected.

The Navy halves were most successful in that they completely bottled up Lee Wal. Tong, allowing him no treedom.
