A BRILLIANT PLEADER. The late Mr. Jenkin was one of the most brilliant pleaders ever to have practiced in the Colony. In 1931, he was appointed a KC, a most deserved honour. Apart from his legal work, the late Mr. Jenkin lived a somewhat retired life, During the war he was- EN charge of the Police Reserve, which at the time numbered six hundred me. He showed great enthusiasm for the work, and was largely res- ponsible for bringing the Force to the high state of efficiency which It attained. In recognition of his services, he was honoured with the C.B.E. decoration in 1918, when he was also a Justice of the Peace.

During the meeting the Secrc-. tary announced that a letter had been received from Mr. Chang Yue Fan, Chairman of the Macao Con- fucian Society, thanking the Chamber for the recent donation of $100 for the re-building of the Hall of that Society.
At the conclusion of the meet- ing, the Secretary declared that. during the last few weeks, three new members from the different arms and manufacturers had ap- plied to the Chamber for member- ship. The applications were pass-, ed unanimously by those present.

TWO PEOPLE KILLED LAST WEEK
45 Accidents Reported
Two people were killed in löcat traffic accidents last week, both when ninning on the roadway. In al 45 accidents were reported. involving injur.es to 18 people. Twelve people were injured when' running on the roadway, five when walking on the roadway, and one when jumping on or off, or talking off, a vehicle when in motion.
There were 25 collisions, between vehicles, six involving damage 'to property.
