Great interest has been created on the Clydesice by the statement been invited from four leading ship-building arms for designs for a sister ship. Among the firms asked to tender are John Brown and Co., Limited, Clydebank, who are now complet ing the atting out of the Queen Mary. It is confidently expected in Glasgow that if an order for a sis- ter ship is decided upon, it will go to Clydebank, as John Brown and Co. are in a favourable posi- tion in view of their experience other nationalities, while of the

The RM.S. "Empress of Japar arrived at Shanghal on the 25th February (Tuesday) at 2.00 pm. and left Shanghal yesterday at 10 am. She is duc at Hong Kong to-morrow at 5.30 a.m. and leaves Hong Kong for Manila on the same day at 5.00 p.m.

The RMS. "Empress of Asia" left Vancouver for Hong Kong, vià Japan ports and Shanghai, on the 22nd February" (Saturday), am. She is due at Hong Kong on the 12th March (Thursday), a.m. and due to leave for Manila on the same evening.
