Soviet Naval Base.-Construction

naval base of a new Soviet Posslet Bay, in an inlet south of Vladivostok and near the Korean border. Is under way. Large for tha quantities of materials building of the new base are being assembled at Vladivostok.

Lenyunkang Port. --- Develop- ment of the new port of Lenyun- kang, at the eastern terminus of the Lung-Hal Railway, is making great strides. The latest pieces of construction work started are the building of a reservoir and

plant under the electric power auspices of the Lung-Hai Raliway

Administration.

Yangtze Navigation. Blasting operations for the removal of dangerous rocks in the Upper which are impeding Yangtze, navigation, have been, asked for by General Chiang Kai-shek. In view of the enormous labour and expense involved, the Government has decided to send engineers to make a thorough investigation.

Orders Oil Tanker-The Siamese Government has ordered from the
