The robbery and murder was stated to have taken place on the notice of the police, until February 1. but was not brought to

The woman claims to have ar rived in Hong Kong on February 1 on a vessel, the name of which she is unacquainted. HE. the Governor has appointed anchored at a buoy in midstream, about 6 pm. She went ashore in i sampan manned by three Chin- ese, and she was accompanied by two Chinese males, Wong Shan, 71 years of age, and Wong Ching, 32 years of age, who travelled with her on the vessel from Singapore.

The vessel
THE ATTACK L
They were being rowed towards Hong Kong when two men to an- other sampan came along side and boarded their craft. The two new- comers demanded money and when it was not forthcoming, they struck her travelling companions with pieces of wood, rendering them unconscious. The assailants then changed clothes with the un- conscious men, putting on the old clothes of the latter before throw- ing them into the harbour.
Two pieces of iron a foot long each, and 2 inches thick, were tied around them, so that the bodies sank immediately."
The murderers then ransacked the sampan, and from a wooden box belonging to Wong Ching, they "extracted $1,000. In another box the property of Wong Shan, they took $800 and from a cash bòx, be- longing to her, hey stole $420 and three gold rings valued at $30. each.
