WEEK-END SOCCER
S. CHINA "B" SURPRISED
R. U. R. Inspired Display
The hitherto unvanquished South China "B" team received their first set back this season yesterday at the hands of the. Royal Ukter Rifles, when they went down in a one-sided en- much counter by the odd goal in Bye. The Chinese fielded a depleted team and were lucky to have got away with that re-
suit.
Y
weakened At Caroline Hil, South China "A" also with a eleven managed to obtain both points from the Lyeemun Gun- ners. But for the weak shooting of the soldiers' forward line the result might very well have been reversed. The Police-Athlet'c match ended in a share of polly, while the Senior Service ran riot with St. Joseph's College.
"An exhilarating feature of the week-end soccer was the excellent display given by the two teams in the Governor's The Association Cup, which ended in a draw of one goal all. team was unlucky not to have snatched a victory as on the day's play they were slightly the superior. team.

K.C.C. SECURES THE "DOUBLE"
Army Surprisingly Defeated At Home
Only two senior leagge cricket games were played on Satur- day and resulted in wins for the K.C.C. and the Civil Service Cricket Club over the C.C.C. and Army respectively.
The K.C.C.. by virtue of their win have now placed them-, selves' in 's very sound position for the Championship. In their match on Saturday good bowling by Frank Goodwin was prl" marily responsible for their victory. Goodwin" took 6 wickets for 42 runs in 18.1" ovats, seven of which were ma dens.
Thinks to J, E.. Bichardson who scored 101 runs in a chanceless innings which was featured by some hard hitting on his part. the C.S.C.C. scored a meritorious win over the Army at Sookinpoo. The Army declared their innings closed at: 183 runs for 9 wickets. This total was passed by the Civil servants who had four wickets to spare.
יו
Several Junior 'eague games wote also decided. The K.C.C. "Jun'ors accounted for the C.C.C, thus bringing off the “double” for the Club The R.A.M.G.," and Police also won 'the'r · "mat- ches.
