Shanghai, Feb. 2. One of the loveliest weddings of the new year and one of the first to be performed this month took place yesterday when Mias Leila Croot and Mr. Hans-Hugo Paul Melchers were united in marriage. The services were held' at the German Consulate-General and at the German Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Croot of Petersfield, England, and the bridegroom, who is chief editor of the Trans-Ocean New Service, is the son of the late Mr. Karl F. Melchers and Mrs. El Melchers of Shanghai."
