after a brief illness
and Mrs, J. A. Smith of Wembley, England and Miss Freda Rayward, eldest daughter of the late Mr. D. Rayward and of Mrs. Rayward also of Wembley were united in holy matrimony,

The bride looked charming in a about 40 years ago from Ireland. He was liked by all his friends and

He was also a keen swimmer and a fine long-distance runner.
Mr. Bailey was a life member of the Institute of Engineers and Shipbuilders; past president of the Kowloon Residents' Associa- tlan; a member of the Hong Kong Boxing Association and of the "Hong Kong Club,
He is survived by a widow and four young children, two of whom are in Hong Kong and two at school in Australia, having left here only a few weeks ago.
THE FUNERAL
The funeral took place on Satur day afternoon the Colonial Cemetery and was very largely attended. There was also a large profusion of wreaths.

Union Church, Kowloon.
