ROME COMMUNIQUE

Rome, Die 11. After Signor Mussolini received the text of the Franco-British Pro- posals for the settlement of the Abyssinian Conflict, the following official notice was published: "The Italian Chief received the French Ambassador on Wednesday at 5.30 p.m., both of whom handed in their copies of the Paris Fropos

the sais. Bignor Mussain! told Ambassadors in turn that he ap- preciated the valuable efforts made by the French and British Govern- ments in Paris to settle the Abye- sinian conflict, and would give the proposals consideration."

BETTER CONCESSIONS

It is unofficialy stated that the French and British Ambassadors made to Mussolini an additional verbal communication about the views of the two Great Powers con- cerning an amicable settlement of the conflict in satisfaction of the Italian claims.-

In Governmental circles here the opinion prevalis that several days will be required to give the pro- posals adequat: consideration, and to decide the final answer, because the text is very lengthy and highly technical. The view is expressed in Leading political circles that the atmosphere is favourable to ac- ceptance because of the conces sions made towards Italy, were greater than was expected.-- Transocean ̈Kuo Min.
