COMMISSION
Medals And Diplomas Awarded In Contest
At the Wan Yan College yester- day afternoon medals and diplomas distributed by Mrs. A. B. were Wallington to the successful pupils entered the 1935 who had Catech.am Contest of the Diocesan Catechetical Commission.
Before the distribution" took place, the pupils of St. Mary School gave an interesting play entitled "Dust of the Road." Musical items were supplled by the school or- chestra and other pupila.
"
THE AIMS OUTLINED Addressing the gathering, Father Riganti said:-
It is the second time that a function like this one is being held since the establishment of the Diocesan Catechetical Commission In 1933. Last year it took place at St. Joseph's College. It may be useful to state here again that this Commission was formed by His Lordship Mons. Valtorta as an Ecclesiastical Advisory Committee with a view to promote, encourage and help in the imparting of an efficient religious instruction in all the Catholic Schools of the Vica- riate. In such a way also, Our Bishop intended to show his ap- preciation and interest in the work of imparting religious instruction which is done with much zeal and diligence by our Teachers.
REMEDY FOR EVILS
His Holiness Plus XI has repeat- ed.y pointed out that the remedy for all evils which afflict mankind is that the peace of Christ be sought after and established in the Kingdom of Christ on earth and that this can be obtained only by educating and instructing all men. The task is one of the greatest im- portance; and it is only right that the Church should take great care in fixing rules and giving advices about the imparting of religious instruction to adults as well as to the little ones,
