It is learned on excellent author- ity that it is now dennitely set- tied that the King and Queen will make a second holiday visit In Eastbourne early next year
They will again stay at Compton Place, the Eastbourne residence of
the Duke of Devonshire, where they spent several weeks in the early spring of this year. "
Compton Place has been vacant since August, When the duke's heir, the Marquess of Hartington and bis family left after their summer holiday. Plans have been for # redecoration prepared
to be completed before scheme Christmas. Already the old elect ric lift has been taken away and a new one will shortly be installed. No large structural alterations are
proposed,
