Fresh hopes Charles Kingsford-Smith and his companion. Captain" Pettybrigge, have been raised by the receipt of a wireless message at the office of the Director of Civil Aviation from the aerodrome officer at Victoria Point, conveying the report that with a broken wing has been found in the jungle near Lalkur.

The report adds that there are two airmen with the damaged ma- chine, one of them with a broken leg. The other is unhurt.
