Basing his remarks on Japanese prèss reports, he commented on the criticism in the press reports of Sir Frederick Leith-Ross induc- ing Chinese bankers to support the Nanking Government's financial) policies. FURTHER SUCCESSES BY ETHIOPIANS
Native Troops Encircled By Ras Desta
Addis Ababa, Nov. 24. Although reports of the recapture of Gorahal are as yet unconfirmed by official quarters, it is asserted here that three Abyssinian troop columns operating along Fafan River made con- siderable progress during the last few days and reconquered 'a "greater part of the territory occupied by the Italans.
It is definitely stated that Babre Darre, which is about. Af-- teen miles from Gorahal, has been taken by the Abyssinians. It is therefore regarded as possible that 'the Italians evacuated the latter town, without putting up a battle.
It is furthermore reported here that the troops of Ras Desta encircled two thousand Italian native troops at Alhakre and captured the village.
According to reports from Dessle, an influenza épidemic has
· broken out among the Imperial troops stationed there. It is ex. pected that the Emperor will shortly arrive in Dessle where he will reside at the former Italian · Consulate there. — Transocean Kuo Min.
