Pleasing Ceremony At The Headquarters
In recondition of vainable services rendered to the St. John Ambulance Brigade in Hong Kong, five leading members of the community were invented with Venerable Orders of St. John of Jerusalem by His Excellency, the Officer Administering the Gov- ernment, the Hon. Mr. N. L. Smith at the Brigade › Headquarters yesterday evening.
His Excellency the Hon. Mr. N. L. Smith who was accom- panied by Mr. J. II. B. Les (Private Secretary) and Capt. W. J. R. Cruel. A.D,C., said at the close of the function that he was very lad to have performed the function because when be was asked he was promised that there was going to be nỏ speech making. The function had to be performed at very short notice because In another 24 hours he would ratinguish his post to Sir Thomas Southern who was going to assume the position of Officer Ad- ministering the Government again.

OBITUARY
The many friends of Mr. Gus d'Aquino will leam with deep regret the death of his aunt, Miss A. d'Aquino at the age of 54 years which occurred at the French Hospital yesterday morning follow- ing upon a prolonged illness.
The deceased lady had been alling for the last 21 years and was admitted to hospital on and off during this time. Her demise did not come as a surprise to the many friends.
