Repulse Bay And The Lido "Shot" Yesterday
The Hong Kong Travel Association are to be congratulated on the great progress they are making in^putting Hong Kong right before the eyes of the world. Sponsored by the Associa \tion, a small but representative gathering assembled at the Lido, Repulse Bay. yesterday evening when Mr. Bonny Powell representing the Fox Film Company shot a further 800 feet of film for the "Hong Kong Magic Carpet" film, which has been in the making during the past few days." Hong Kong is cer- tally going to be rigất “n the limelight when this first film is -projected on the silver screen.
Yesterday Mr. Powell was busy filming scenes of Repulse Bay and the Lido, and a representative gathering was present to lend splendour to the beautiful scenic shots already taken.. Mr. Powell has made many other Magic Carpet Alms of other lands but in conversation with a "Dally Press" representative yesterday be said that Hong Kong would make a splendid Ma- rle Carpet film. He was particularly interested in scenes of Repulse Bay as he thought that the scenic beauty and sur- roundings were Idea" for the making of a beautiful pleture. He has spent the last few days "shooting" different spots of inter- est In the Colony, and he intends to take many more pictures of the daily life of the city and also shots at dusk when he wil get the outline of the massive Peak and the millions of lights that go to make Hong Kong one of the prettiest sights by night.
