DEATH OF CAMBRIDGE MUSICIAN

London, Oct. 10. Dr. Alan Gray, formerly organist of Trinity College, Cambridge, died last week at the age of 79. He was well known as a composer ot church music.
Born at York in 1855, Dr. Gray was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. After graduating he was admitted a solicitor in 1881. but he relinquished law for music. taking the degrees of Müs. Bac. in 1886 and Mus. Doc. in 1889,
