CRUISER YACHTING
Prospects For The Season
BY SHELL BACK
The Royal Hongkong "Yacht Club open their Cruiser racing season on Sunday next with the first of two unofficial Pool races, the course sel being from the Yacht Club at North Point round Wagian Island to Starboard and back, a distance of 21 miles.. On the following Sunday there is a second anofficial race round Cheung Chau and then, after a short break the Season starts in earnest on the 3rd November, with the first of a Ton Cralser and Four series of six races for the Cruiser Championships.
The courses, for races in this series are usually about 25 miles long, round convenient marks such as Hongkong Island. the Brothers off Castle Peak, Lamma Island and so on. During a race "of this sort, es pecially it is at that discourag- ing period shortly before dawn. the helmsman's feelings tend to be. "Why did I ever start in this But when it is wretched race?" over, discomforts and uncertain- ties
