It was indeed a very commendable move on the part of the Itong Kong Football Association when they decided to allocate two official linesmen for all sealor games during the present sea-

son.

This move will undoubtedly eradicate many of the little un-. pleasant incidents, which had so often in the past led up to seri- ous trouble.

The official season opened last week though the full program- me of matches played revealed no surprises with the exception or St. Joseph's College's convining win over Kowloon,

Last year's Champion S. China "A" showed that they are stil us good as ever. Their five all victory over East Lancs. clearly demonstrated this. A feature of the game was Tam Kong Pak's play at left-back.

The soldiers were worried by the nippy Chinese forwards "and their defence had a gruelllag time. The score of Ove nil was of course no reflection on the play as the soldiers had quite a good share of the game and it was only the good work of the Chin- ese defence that kept them from scoring.

The Hong Kong Football Club started their season very promis- ingly when they beat the R.A. (S) by four clear goals. Though with- out the services of Howe and Pote- Hunt their deputies Fowler and Gilchrist exclied themselves. es- pecially Fowler who showed that he still possess that turn of speed. The Gunners put up a miserable display and their game will have to be very much improved if they intend to go far in the league.

Stevens and Moss were very prominent in the forward line while Blackburn was. as usual, steady. McHardy in goal played well while the Recreio, though they showed flashes of their past form, were unable to really cope with the fast raids carried out by the Police.

The best game during the week- end was undoubtedly the game between the two Army teams Fusiliers and Lincolns-who shared a goals
