LOUIS WINS IN THE
FOURTH ROUND
Baer's First Knock-Out
In Whole Career
Joe Loubs, described as the most sensational negro boxer since the great Jack Johnson, made further progress in his quest for the heavyweight boxing crown when he knocked-out Max Baer, the former title holder, in the fourth round of their "fight at The Stadium, New York, on Wednesday.
The fight, which was witnessed by some 85,000 people, was a flerce one from the moment the gong sounded.. Lónis punished his opponent mercilessly though Bear did manage to get in some telling punches. In the-third round the former champion was sent to the canvas twice--for counts of three and nine respectively.
Mr. John Roosevelt, ion of the President of the United States, was at the ringside and almost every living boxing champion saw the fight. Members of the Brillsh Ryder Cup team were there 100, as were many film stars including George, Raft, Wallace Beery and Mary Pickford. It was announced that three hours before the fight Joe Louls married Miss Marva Trotter, a pretty negress of Harlem who was at the ringside to cheer her husband to vie- tury. ¡
