Ten years ago the first British Fladio Exhibition, organised by the Radio Manufacturers' Association. was held at Olympia, in London. Seating accomodation was taxed to the limit when Shanghai met Hong Kong on the first day of the contest at Interport Swimming the Victoria Recreation Club bath yesterday. At the end of the day Shanghai, by virtue of a splendid victory in the 200 Yards Relay Race led the local side by a single point, but so far 0.3 individual honours were concerned, the Hong Kong men came off best.

To start the ball rolling W. Lawrence, the Hong Kong "ace" man won the 220 yards from N. Hammond in rather easy fashion, establishing a new Interport mark when he recorded 2 mins. 23 3/5 secs. Hammond led for the first 100 yards which he covered at a cracking pace to turn at the four lengths with a clear three yards Then Lawrence gradually lead. overhauled his rival, and finished the race 7-3/5 secs, ahead of the Shanghal

Hammond marvel clocked 2 mins. 30 secs, dead.

On Sunday, when I looked at the piece of damp sea- weed which Aunt Fanny gave me, I knew there was going to be a typhoon, and sure enough I was right. Or nearly right, because there nearly was, wasn't there. I got so" excited, and Sebastian positively wouldn't eat his bone! I do think animals are marvellous, don't you? A friend of mine once had a little doggy called Pansy, a lady-doggy, and this friend was rather naughty I'm afraid, and used to get intoxicated at night.
