LAWN BOWLS NOTES
The League And Open Games
BY ` "F. B.*
The lawn bowls competitions in Hong Kong are in its last stages, and practically every competition' has been decided.".
In the League the C.C.C. "A" are almost assured of the Senior Championship, being four points ahead of Recrelo, their Dearest rivals, with one game in hand. They have still three more games to play and another win will definitely set them down as Champions.
In the Junior Division the Bowling Green has annexed the title already and much interest is centred on the runners-up position which is being fought out between Taikoo Docks. Re- credo and K.C.C. Each of these Cabs have 22 points to their credit with 16 matches played.
Many of the Police supporters were disappointed last week in that the home team WAS unable to offer much opposition to the C C.C. "A" who won by 12 shots. AN three of the C.C.C.'s. rinks were triumphant and Omar's and Luz's rinks returned the higest wins of the day by 5 shots each..
The Police were playing as well as could be expected, in fact at one stage they were having the better of their neighbours who up to the tea-interval were playing a game that looked none too good for the C.C.C. However, the C.C.C. stalwarts asserted themselves and -gradually forged ahead,
Bradbury's rink was given a close run by Shepherd's four and was only at the closing stages that Bradbury was able to draw tway from the Police.
THE SURPRISE
The greatest surprise of the week was provided by the Kowloon Docks when they lowered the col- ours of the Recreto by a single shot. Incidentally the proud un- beaten skip record of C. G. Suva went by the board, and to "Jock" McKelvie goes the honour of hav- ing been responsible. Strange as It may seem, Silva's rink falled miserably and went down by no less than 14 shots and despite the vallant efforts made by H. A. Alves and FXM da Silva, the other two skips, the deficit was too much for the Portuguese,
The most interesting play of the three rinks was undoubtedly that between Alves and Cooper. Never at any time during the game was the difference more than a few shots. Alves was wel supported by his men and Cooper's men, not to be outdone, gave their akip all the necessary help. Cullen In particularly was seen to good ad vantage at No. 3.

AT THE BOWLING GREEN The Indians are
again playing away against the Bowling Green. They may find the green
other strange and on the
band
they may be able to gauge it which will mean an uphlii fght for the home team. Unless the Indians are capable of producing the same do when kind of form as they
not playing at home, I do
think they have much prospects of re- the turning to Hong Kong with two points.
The best game of the day should and be that between the Police the C.C.C. "B". Both teams are playing bowls
of an uncertain standard. The Police are known as a team of big surprises. They should meet with stiff opposition from the C.C.C."B" to-morrow: who are quite capable of extend- ing the strongest team in the lea-
gue.

THE JUNIORS,
The Junior leaders are opposed to the Electricians and should win comfortably, Kowloon Dock, Re- all be crelo and K.C.C. should able to claim the points while the Police should find no difficulty in beating the lowly placed Yacht

THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS Now that the Open Champion- ships have practically been cided, cffet interest is centred on the International Shield Competi- tion and the Interport.
