KING ESCAPES WITH INJURIES
Lucerne, August 29.
A grim tragedy caused a bereavement in the Belgian Royal family when the Queen of the Belgians was killed in a motor accident to-day. She was sented, beside the King, who was at·· the wheel, the King sustaining cuts in the head.

The Italian polley will not threaten the life interests of the British Empire neither directly nor indirectly; 4. Italy is convinced that the Abyssinian problem is merely a colonial question which will not i affect the general European political situation; 8. Application of sanctions against Italy will have most serious consequences.
