DRAFT RESOLUTION AT GENEVA
Appeal To Mussolini To Wave Objections
Geneva, August 1.
'The delegates 'are awaiting the repiles of Italy and Abyssinia" to the draft resolution on which Mr. Eden and M. Laval agreed last night.
,!
It is understood that the resolution encountered" Italian-op- position, as a result of which M. Laval had a telephonic conver- ' sation with Signor Mussolini this morning and appealed to him to waive the objections. The result has so far not been known, but in any case it will be necessary to postpone the Council meeting fixed for 5 pm.
The resolution is believed to represent the minimum British. requirement. The British modification of the original French text is understood to contain a stipulation, but if the negotiations under the 1906 treaty fall, the problem shall be examined in all its aspects in September.-Reuter.
