The Duke of Kent, in reply sald: "I should like to thank you for the kind words of welcome ex- pressed on behalf of all ranks by their Colonel and which I greatly appreciate. I need.burdly say how proud I feel so have been made Colonel-in-Chief of this famous regiment Your record has always been one of great distinction, both in times of peace and of war, and I am sure that is fine traditions will be upheld by all who are now serving in its ranks. This is the first occasion on which I have paraded with you, and it is an event which I shall always re- member. I look forward to many memorable associations with you in years to come."",
8TH DESTROYER FLOTILLA Destroyers of the 15th Division, 8th Flotilla which have been at Wel-hai-wel since May, are leaving for Hong Kong. The Daring and Diamond should arrive there to- morrow after calling at Swatow. The Delight and Duchess are to go to Shanghal from July 16 to 22, and should arrive at Hong Kong on July 25. The vessels of the 18th Division from Hong Kong will go to Wel-hat-wei in their place. The Decoy and Defender are due there to-morrow after calling at Amoy. The Dainty and Diana will leave Hong Kong on July 22, call at Pagoda Anchorage from July 24 to 2, and arrive at Wel-hal-wel on July 30.
