More Drastic Reform
Washington, July 26.
The Senate, without the record of vote, has passed the Banking Bili substantially as revised by the Senate Bank Committee.
The Bill will now go to con- ference with the House of Re- presentatives which has passed а much more drastic reform
measure.
Prior to the passage of the Bi, the "Senate despite Administra, tion opposition, voted by 39 to 22 to retain the provision permitting | restricted underwriting of securi- ties by commercial banks, and also voted down by 59 to 10 & substitute proposal to create- £ Government-owned. Central. Bank.
