The first instance to use and execute the "powers granted on April 24 last year to the peoples' court, which is constituted to try the most glaring cases of high treason, occurred on Thursday when the 41 year old Rudolf Claus of Brunswick who with & long record of crime with communist subversion to his account, was condemned to death and the loss of all civil rights..

Claus was sentenced to penal servitude for life for participation in a communist insurrection in 1921, but was pardoned. Among other crimes he was again sen- tenced to 8 years penal servitude
