The League of Nations Council wil; be convened early next" week for discussion of the Italo-Abyssinian conflict, this decision being reached by M. Laval and the General Secretary of the League of Nations M. Avenol, during a conference on Wednes- day, according to well-informed quarters here,
Immediately after his return from Geneva, M, Avenol will get into telephonic touch with the President of the League of Nations Counch, M. Litvinoff, in order to decide definitely the date of the opening of the extraordinary session, and it is op edicted here that either July 30 or 31 will be the day chosen and that the debate will not last longer than August 3.
