New York, July 14. The New York Yankees, now being offered a serious challenge by Detroit Tigers for the top pos!- of the American Baseball League, to-day suffered another defeat when playing the Chicago White Sox.

The teams were engaged in a double header which was shared, the Yankees winning the second. contest after having been blanked out in the first by Ted, Lyens.
