Mr. Epstein's revelation in withdrawing his Royal Academy nomination, that his name has been on the list for 10 years throws a light on the difficulties in the path of a would-be R.A.

There .is no royal and direct road to that honour, An artist must first be, proposed and second- ed for an Associateship. When a vacancy occurs an election is held at which all RA's and A.R.A's are entitled to take part.

Two Remarkable Flights

Singapore, June 24. Two remarkable fights have, been made by two Singapore flying boats of No. 205 Squadron, RAF.
