WAGON. WHEELS

One of the most stirring epic adventures in the history of the conquest of the West comes to the Alhambra Theatre on Wednesday. in the thrilling Paramount filmi- zation of Zane Grey's Wagon Wheels" featuring" Randolph Scott. Gall Patrick, Mänte Blue and Raymond Hatton.

IMITATION OF LIFE

"Magnificent" may be a much abused word, even in Hollywood, but nothing else adequately des cribe "Imitation

of Life," the Fannie Hurst novel which John M. Staht made into a pleture för Uni- versal starring Claudette Colbert and Warren William'coming to the King's Theatre very soon.

Adapted from the well-known novel. Fighting Caravan" by Zane Grey, the picture is a stirring account of the famous trip by the covered wagon caravan trom In- dependence, Moto Oregor in 1844 when the sturdy, adventurous American pioneers first went out!ty to make the set perfect and to "homestead the new country:

Superlatives tall, sometimes, to describe a picture and such is the case with "Reckless" which is hav- ing its run at the Queen's Theatre.

The name of Harlow alone, is enough to attract a big crowd and coupled with that of Willam Powell, Queen's Theatre

did a roaring trade.

The glamorous star is seen as Mona Leslie, a dancing girl who rises to great social heights, only to be plunged into the depths of scandal and disgrace by the mad act of her millionaire playboy:hus- band.

Dr. Lockhart, maintained that it was not beyond human capacity to find a means whereby women who wished to work could be both mothers and workers.

"If there are three spheres where married women are needed," he said, I should say they are teaching, social: administration, and the supervising of family labour and working conditions in industry."

Oxford was swept away to-day. A statute was passed providing that all degrees in the University shall be open to meri and women equally.

This means that women will be now able to take the two degrees, Bachelor and Doctor of Divinity. which have hitherto been closed to them..

Dr. K. E.Kirk, who moved the passing of the statute, said that 15 years ago, when women were first admitted to the full mem- bership of the University, the pos- sibilty of them taking degrees in Divinity had been "'a storm- centre of controversy."

The present proposal, he added, had the complete support of the Board of the Faculty of Divinity.
