With the departure of the R, M SS "Empress of Canada" to-day, Hong Kong will be losing a very popular officer in the person of Captain Reginald Fredrick Walter. who prior to his departure was A.D.C to His Excellency "Sir Wi- Ham Peel during the last Wo... years of Sir William Peel's reign in the Colony.

Captain Walter was born in 1908 and gained his commission in 1928 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant three years later. He was appointed as A.D.C. to His Excellency the Governor. Sir W- tiam Peel in November, 1932, and on the latter's departure from the Colony, Capt. Walter acted as A.D. C. to Sir Thomas Southon, the Officer Administating the Govern-

ment.

Some excitement was caused at the Lower Peak Tram station this afternoon, when a man was seen to fall heavily into the nullah opposite, the station.
