Geronimo de los Reyes, acting president of the P. Llawn tennis association, and a member of the ranking committee of the associa- tion, made the announcement that results of the major tennis tourna ments in the Island are

being tabulated for the purpose of deter- minng the proper rankings of the local tennis greats. While admit tag that some difficulty will be encountered by the ranking com- mittee in ranking the players, he said, however, that a system will be adopted whereby the work of determining the playing ability of the local tennis aces with be facilitated.

Shanghai, May 31. The New Life Movement is pro- viding a mask behind which a group of anti-foreigu boycotters are working.. Such is the true atate of affairs existing in Wea- chow at the moment, it was learnt in Shanghai yesterday, from reli- able authority:

Cigarettes made by Chinese firing have been allowed in to Wenchow without let or hindrance. It is only cigarettes of foreign manufacture with which interference has occur. red.

The Chinese organization active y concerned in the boycott is the Yungkis (Wonchow) Cigarette & Money Exchange Shops Associa tion, while another is the New Life Movement Promotion Society, though apparently, the principals of the latter are used as a ent's paw by the former.

The spring tennis tournament of the Singapore Cricket Club came to a successful conclusion yester- day afternoon, with the playing of the final of the handicap and the presentation of prizes, including a presentation to Mr. C, J. Smutn, the well-known Malayan surgeon, the gift being from past and present S.C.C. rugby players.
