Rain Interferes

Owing to the rain yesterday all the tennis matches that were to have been played off the "D" divi- sion of the Tennis League were postponed.

The lawn

bowls fixtures met with a similar fate with the ex- ception of the game on the Hong Kong Electric Recreation Club ground.

YESTERDAY'S BOWLS

In the only Lawn Bowls match played yesterday, A. Brooksbank's rink comprising E. Tuck, G. S. Graver and A. Jackson defeated H. Nish's rink composed of B, E. Maughan, C. B. Hosking, G. E. F. Thompson by the narrow margin of one shot, the score being 19-18.

The game was an exciting affair, the losers leading in the first eight heads, but from then onwards they were trailing behind although by a very small margin.

Campbell Black's Plans

London, May 23. Before the Northern Summer ends in September, Campbell Black" en-plict with C.WA. Scott of the Comet twin-engined monoplane which won the England-Australia speed and handicap races last Oc- lober, will undertake a series of long-distance fights that may es- tablish new records over some of the world's chief present and fu- ture air routes.

His machine will be a new and Improved, Comet now under manu- facture. It is designed to cruise 10,000 feet above sea level at a speed of at least 220 miles per hour. Its maximum attainable level speed will be about four miles per minute. and its range on one, fuel of load in still air will be 2,000 to 3,000 miles.
