Blaze Of Brilliance
COLONY'S LOYALTY TO THE CROWN
In common with other parts of the British Empire, Hong Kong to-day celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Accession to the Tarone of His Most Gracious Majesty, King George V, and the occasion will be marked in a manner characteristic of the Colony's loyalty to the Crown.
Although only one holiday has been declared, the celebrations will be spread over a week, the most elaborate affair being perhaps the Chinese Procession on which a great deal on money has been spent.
All the Colony's leading buildings, public as well as private residences, have been specially decorated for the version and for the next three nights Hong Kong will be a blaze of brilliance.
The Jubilee feeling was preva lent throughout all of yesterday and the crowds in the streets re- minded one of the Peace' Celebra- ticns, It has been stated that some 200,000 people have come from all parts of China to match the celebrations and the visitors are entering into the spirit, of the celebrations with great enthus-

The Arsi "unofficial" function of the Jubilee celebrations was the gala performance of "Royal Caval- cade" at the King's Theatre last night when Lady Peel; companied by Capt. R. F. Walter, A.D.C. attended. It was brilliant affair and a touch of colour was added to the proceed- ings when the buildings in the vicinity, lit up as a Anal re- hearsal for to-night's proceedings.

Crown And The Empire
London, May 3. Stanley Baldwin, presiding at: a Primrose League demonstralicz," said the position of the Crown and of the King in this country was not merely a matter of sentiment, important as that was. It was a matter of most profound political interest and importance. It any cataclysm the Crown vanished

"As older Imperial ties become attenuated the tle of the Crown becomes stronger and more per- sonal every year we live. We have evidence of that to-day in the tone and spirit and temper of the demonstrations and thanksgivings which are patent throughout the
